The sounds of someone speaking inside a closed room behind a metal door are faintly audible; then it slides open, and a man beckons Saffron in. He's not very tall, dressed in a safety orange flight suit, with slightly messy brown hair and a genial face that also has a little bit of permanent worry under it. The room is full of similarly-dressed people, seated and watching the speaker; another man waves Saffron over—this one rather notably handsome, only marred by a fairly significant burn scar across part of his face. She takes the seat next to Handsome Fellow.
As she sits, the man who was speaking addresses the room. "Rogues, Wraiths," he says, "I'd like to introduce you to ████ ██████, newest pilot in Wraith Squadron. She hasn't seen any action yet, but she's already brought down a black-market ring operating on a New Republic training frigate. That's a pretty good start."
The room breaks into applause; Saffron gamely offers a smile to the room, and gives a slightly tired wave. "Thank you," she says, and smiles. "But before anyone feels that his own sideline business is threatened, let me just say that I am susceptible to bribes."
There's laughs all around; another pilot with more exciting-looking rank draws a hand across his brow in mock-relief. The man at the front of the room then waves, and starts getting into the details of the actual briefing—a mission to someplace called Lavisar, where they intend to faux-botch a mission, and then present the local government (under an Empire?) with information indicating that they were set up to be attacked by someone named Zsinj.
When Lavisar's governor is mentioned, and the danger of getting in contact with him, Saffron very abruptly breaks in to note that he likes sunfruit liqueur, and explains (with a little nervousness, after being put on the spot) that when she was working with a logistics company on Coruscant prior to her recruitment, she came across that information which was noted as useful in the event that the company ever made contact with that world again after Coruscant fell to the New Republic. When asked, she says she doesn't have a perfect memory, but just a good memory for facts, trivia, and statistics.
Soon after, the meeting breaks up, with everyone set to their tasks to prep for the mission ahead.
General takeaways: - Saffron has a very good memory for miscellaneous detail and trivia, and remembers what people like - She's a fighter pilot, apparently, under a government known as the New Republic, and a member of "Wraith Squadron" - She used to work for a shipping company processing data before she was recruited - Seems tired and a little nervous, but that tracks
Internal knowledge: - There's a war ongoing between the New Republic and the Empire; Zsinj is a breakaway from the main Imperial faction - She's very proud to have plotted her own course to arrive here, and flew the route herself - The man next to her used to be a really famous child actor slash hottie before he was kidnapped and presumed dead - Everyone has been very kind and friendly to her - She was lying about how she knew about the sunfruit liqueur. - She is in hostile territory and must keep a secret at any cost.
