Though, I know a lot of people get superstitious about machines developing a self, I've just never believed in it.

I couldn't believe it at first either, but it was a man repairing a motorrad who told me about it. When you travel with a motorrad, you make a pact - a motorrad can move quickly, but it can't go anywhere without balance. So as the rider, you provide balance, and the motorrad provides speed, and both of you get to enjoy traveling more.

It would be hard to make a pact like that if the motorrad couldn't talk.

No, I think at this point we're both comfortable with the terms to leave it unsaid. Besides that... I think we do have an understanding that if we really had to, I could find another motorrad, and he could find another rider.

In the end, we will both prioritize ourselves.
